Facebook doesn’t need any introduction. The largest social networking were 1.94 billion active users like You and me, sharing messages, information and finding friends every day. In Facebook five profiles are created every second, users are adding tons of information including text, graphics, photos and videos to it everyday. What happens your data, if Facebook decided to close the shutter on one day ! Don’t worry, nothing happens like that. So you want to download or want to get a copy of your data, information, photos and videos with you. You can download all your information as a compressed (zip) file.
Wondering what data re available for you to download. There are different categories of data are available for you. Facebook store different categories of data for different time periods, so all of your data since you joined Facebook may not be available. Another thing is you won’t find information or content you’ve deleted from Your Facebook account. When you are deleting something from your Facebook account naturally it’s deleted from Facebook servers. So there is no hope to return it back. Download copy of your Facebook data
You can download your information from your Facebook settings. You can find settings on right side of the Facebook top tool bar menu (drop down to see). To download your Facebook data follow the steps,
- Click at the top right of any Facebook page and choose Settings.
- Click Download a copy of your Facebook data at the bottom of the page. You will be guided to next page like the one shown below.
- Click Start My Archive. (A notification displayed showing “It may take a little while for us to gather your photos, wall posts, messages and other information”)
You will get an email in your registered mail when your Facebook data is ready to download.
You will get an email on your inbox saying that your data is ready to download. Using the link you can reach the Facebook page, click “Download a copy of your Facebook data”. The compressed (Zip) archive is downloaded to your computer. Keep it in a secure place as it contains your personal information. You can extract the achieve if you want to view what information are available to you. It is a wise idea to keep a copy of your Facebook account with you, it will help you when your account will be hacked or stole by somebody.
